No good two people moving stuff at the same time - hold your horses!

Dave... please just read my PM and I'll calm down. Right now I feel like throttling someone and its doing me no good at all.
Kermit - it will look a bit busier for us but will be better for the punter - log out to get a clearer view.
Rich - I've shifted the Axis stuff as-is, separated the Brit and US stuff (and removed rubbish) and deleted the old Axis/Allied bits.
Mod permissions should be OK now, feel free to move stuff from the top of the forum into sub-sections if you feel it would help.

Thanks Dave... I'm afraid I've also re-instated my Admin privileges...
I did say I was annoyed...
Unfortunately I have been sitting here trying to do it for a while... couldn't concentrate on anything else... hence I now have no time to actually move the threads... I really have to get some proper work done.
Yeah, does make a lot more sense when you look at it from the punters POV.

Looks pretty good Dave!
I've just tidied up some of the forum names and the ordering and also created a new doughboys leaders group so that they can moderate their new forum!
Per's don't want a doughboys leaders, we've got enough mod power here already . Any new mods by consent / general opinion please
Happy to have a PBI one as your orging games as well / we know you . Don't see a need for US or German ones, or a private PBI members forum either TBH althuogh thats an unrelated issue . Not sure private team forums are required in an inclusive forum .
DL group deleted , will reinstate if a real need becoems obvious .
We don't want to have to mod the forum ourselves... we could do without that! This is their forum they shouldn't have to ask us every time they want us to close a thread, make something sticky, delete posts, etc! And... we shouldn't be having to nose around in there all the time!
Guy... Please don't just arbitrarily do things without asking.... Its VERY annoying when you've just spent 10mins setting something up and then have it deleted out of hand because of one persons opinion.
Rich same argument applies - don't arbitarily start setting thing up on the forum with consulting first .
It is VERY annoying when one person tries to do things without considering the other people now running the forum .
Yes.... maybe, but when someone has already done the work its a lot more polite to ask them about it before just deleting it.
Anyway I did consider the other people moding the forum... The usergroup was set up to help EVERYBODY.
I may have left CiA, but I am still a moderator of this forum and I am still a Site Admin.
Maybe its time we made doubley clear that this forum is not now a CiA only forum.
* sighs *
I have just refused Rhys' request for a 'private' section and given my reasons (inclusivity blah, blah)
I didn't really want another set of moderators either but on reflection there is a good case for it:
Makes them feel 'in control' and responsible
Can sticky & delete.
But, moderator rights for the Doughboy section, not overall US (can't remember what it was before
)

It was just doughboy... exactly the same as with PBI
To be honest any set of moderators should really have their own private forum... otherwise it makes their job difficult... nowhere to discuss threads in private or move threads they'd like to keep but don't want out in public.
That's not to say there should be doughboys private forum... just a private forum for the dough boys moderators...
It is an awkward thing... but really we shouldn't be rooting around in their forum all the time...! Its just a case of finding the optimum solution without going too far...
No, all they are doing is motivating and starting out - there isn't anything that needs to be private - yet.
Once they start talking behind closed doors it gets very cliquey and I don't want that.
I did tell him that sometime down the line if he makes a case for a private part then to ask me, so I haven't said not ever, just not yet....

As I said.. I agree with you as regards the cliqueyness of private group forums, put private moderator forums may be appropriate.
Or just give the mods access to a global moderators forum... which is what this one effectively is... sort of.
Yes.... maybe, but when someone has already done the work its a lot more polite to ask them about it before just deleting it.

Well I didn't particularily want to have this debate now, but as far as I am concerned ( and I believe in agreement with the remainder of CiA) this is the Comrades in Arms forum , you resigned from Comrades in Arms of your own volition ipso facto , you remain here as a most welcome guest .
I want you to stay on here , there is no better place for PBI to be ,and I would like to think there is space enough for all to gather here, however in my eyes this forum isn't your exclusive baby anymore, and that means at least consulting first with the rest of us .
I knew that would be your answer... However I just don't see it that way. I ask others for their opinions...
In the same way as you may not see this forum as my little baby anymore, I'm afraid I feel exactly the same way in reverse.
CiA and the events thereof I am happy to part company with. This forum is something else entirely.
In actual fact the forum is CW's... he's made that perfectly clear in the past several times.
I helped him put it together and I'm happy to continue doing that.
My view? Whoever owns the forum, its their call.

Thanks Kermit... sounds fair to me.
Over to Dave ..... ![]()
might avoid argument if he alone admins ?
